MY TOP ART / CREATIVE JOURNALING BOOKS

The Art Journal Workshop: Break Through, Explore, and Make It Your Own by Traci Bunkers. I admit it, I am partial... and the luckiest girl EVER because I took a Traci Bunkers online class back way before this book was written! But next to doing that, this is the book to get! I especially recommend it for beginners. Actually, I recommend it for everyone! 10 stars out of 10 (but I bet you knew that was coming!)

It became an instant favorite for me! 10 out of 10 stars.

No Excuses Art Journaling: Making Time for Creativity by Gina Rossi Armfield. Just like her class. I love having a book I can flip through and find all the goodness of her class. There is a lot of structure to her journaling so keep that in mind. I started out following her method and ended up veering off and going my own way because it was a bit too repetitive for me. Still the ideas are awesome. 9 out of 10 stars

MY TOP MAGAZINES TO USE FOR ART JOURNALING

Elle Decor. This is my all time favorite magazine for collage images. The ads seem to have the very best fodder for backgrounds.

Flow. This magazine has wonderful images for collage. It is a bit expensive so it is one of those magazines I splurge on only every once in a while.

Yoga. I love this magazine for tranquil, meditative type collage images.

Real Simple. Lots of simple, everyday themed images.

Coastal Living. Since I live on the West Coast of Florida, there are a lot of images that remind me of my home. I love bright and breezy images and this magazine is full of them!

Self. This is the fashion/health/exercise magazine that I find the most interesting images in.

O. Often time there is a theme where there will be images that tie the articles together, like flowers for borders. unfortunately, for me it is hit or miss as to whether an issue has enough images to warrant me buying it. So this is one of those magazines I flip through at the grocery check-out line to see if it is worth putting in my grocery cart.

Lucky. One of my favorite fashion magazines for journal
